Ingredients
- 6 Medium Apples peeled, cored, and sliced
- 2 Tbsp Lemon Juice
- ½ Cup Granulated Sugar
- ½ Cup Brown Sugar
- 2 Tbsp All-Purpose Flour
- 1 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
- ¼ Tsp Ground Nutmeg
- ⅛ Tsp Salt
- 1 Tbsp Unsalted Butter cut into small pieces
- 1 Pack Refrigerated Pie Crust 2 sheets
- 1 Egg beaten, for brushing
- 1 Tbsp Sugar for sprinkling, optional
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out one pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish.
- In a large bowl, toss the apple slices with lemon juice.
- Mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Sprinkle this over the apples and toss to coat evenly.
- Fill the pie crust with the apple mixture and dot the top with butter pieces.
- Cover with the second pie crust. Trim, seal, and flute the edges. Cut small slits in the top to allow steam to escape.
- Brush the top crust with beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar if desired.
