Chocolate Almond Nuts Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole almonds raw or roasted
- 1 cup dark chocolate or milk chocolate, if preferred
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil to help smooth the chocolate
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt optional, for added flavor
Optional Add-ins
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for extra flavor
- A handful of dried fruit like cranberries or cherries
- A pinch of cinnamon for a warm, spiced flavor
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roast the almonds: Spread the almonds in a single layer on a baking sheet. Roast them for 8-10 minutes, stirring once, until golden brown. Keep an eye on them so they don’t burn.
- Melt the chocolate: While the almonds are roasting, place the chocolate and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
- Mix the almonds with chocolate: Once the almonds are done roasting and the chocolate is melted, pour the almonds into the bowl of melted chocolate. Stir to coat all the almonds in chocolate.
- Add sea salt: Sprinkle the sea salt over the chocolate-covered almonds for a sweet-salty contrast.
- Cool the almonds: Lay the chocolate-coated almonds out on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Allow them to cool and set at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes. If you're in a hurry, place them in the fridge to speed up the process.
- Store or serve: Once the chocolate is set, transfer the almonds to a serving bowl or store them in an airtight container. Enjoy!
