Ingredients
  

  • 2 ½ Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • ½ Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • ½ Teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • ¼ Teaspoon Ground Cloves
  • ¼ Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Stick Unsalted Butter Softened
  • ½ Cup Brown Sugar
  • ½ Cup Molasses
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  • Add the molasses, egg, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and stir well until combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  • Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  • Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes (like gingerbread men, stars, or hearts).
  • Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for about 8-10 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Let the cookies cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Optional: Once cooled, decorate with icing or sprinkles if desired.
